 More than 700 participants for the 4th edition of FUTURE Days on the thematic "Science and public policy support for urban territories"

More than 700 participants took part in this 4th edition of FUTURE Days 2020, in a 100% digital format, imposed by the Covid-19 crisis. However, these three days were rich with 185 French and international speakers from research, academic and socio-economic fields.

 From December 1 to 3, 2020, take part in the 4th edition of FUTURE Days on the thematic "Science and Public Policy support for urban territories"

185 speakers sharing their knowledge and combining their experiences around workshops and plenary sessions; nearly 70 actors - communities and companies - to discuss with the scientific community, who will be systematically associated with all the sessions to discuss and think about and find solutions to the multitude of urban challenges that society faces today.

100% digital, round tables discussion and plenary sessions will address the theme of support for Public Policies, around the three challenges. wich are: natural and energy resource-efficient cities, safe and resilient cities and smart cities that are at the service of their citizens.

 A rich and varied programme for the 4th edition of FUTURE Ddays on the thematic “science and public policy support for urban territories

Hosted by Université Gustave Eiffel for the very first time and in partnership with Université Paris-Est and École des Ponts ParisTech, this year’s edition of FUTURE Days will take place from the 1st to the 3rd of December 2020 in a completely new format due to current events. On Tuesday the 1st of December, the first day of the event - the round tables and workshops will take place in person in the Espace Bienvenüe at Université Gustave Eiffel. A live digital re-transmission will also be made available. The second and third days will be entirely online, though, and all of the workshops will be held remotely.

In total, over 150 national and international participants representing different academic and socio-economic fields will share their experiences and discuss the theme for 2020: “Science and Public Policy Support for Urban Territories”.

The event will welcome researchers from all disciplines, major players from local and regional authorities and companies, who are all looking to pool their knowledge, compare experiences, and learn from national and international experts.

 3ème édition des FUTURE Days. « Héritages et anticipations urbaines ». Conférences, débats, tables rondes et visites techniques pour inventer les villes de demain

Depuis 2017, les FUTURE Days se sont inscrits comme un rendez-vous essentiel réunissant chercheurs, enseignants, étudiants, entrepreneurs et publics, autour des défis environnementaux, climatiques, économiques et sociaux auxquels les villes et les métropoles sont confrontées. La troisième édition des FUTURE Days est organisée autour de la thématique « Héritages et anticipations urbaines ».

Pendant deux jours, scientifiques, donneurs d’ordre, entreprises prestataires, grands groupes, start-ups et PME innovantes, et acteurs mondiaux des villes de demain se réunissent autour de divers temps forts :

  • des conférences scientifiques en présence d’acteurs nationaux et internationaux
  • des débats et tables rondes proposant des retours d’expérience sur des sujets aussi divers que la ville événementielle, les risques à la crise, la formation des étudiants aux enjeux de la ville durable, le patrimoine, etc.
  • des visites d’équipements de recherche présents sur le Campus de la Cité Descartes
  • l’exposition Art Métropole dédiée aux villes de demain, vues par le prisme des arts plastiques ou par des projets architecturaux utopiques.

On 27 and 28 November 2019, the third edition of FUTURE Days at Cité Descartes in Marne-la-Vallée will see 7 round tables, 10 talks, 4 workshops and 11 visits of research facilities around the theme “Cities: our legacy, our future”. Bringing together the academic and socioeconomic worlds, the event is marked by the participation of experts and international figures involved in the city and sustainable development.

 The third edition of FUTURE Days is to be held on 27 and 28 November 2019 at Cité Descartes on the theme "Legacy and future of our cities"

Since 2017, FUTURE DAYS has been an essential event for the academic, student, entrepreneurial and public sectors, examining the environmental, climatic, economic and social challenges facing towns and cities. Last year, more than 500 visitors attended. «The aim of this 3rd edition is to offer wide-ranging, international, high-quality conferences on the challenges of urban transitions. » explains Cécile Delolme, Vice President of Université Paris- Est, the event’s organiser. “We continue to pay close attention to the balance between the academic and economic worlds, providing the opportunity for discussion and knowledge transfer, but also showcasing practical solutions put in place by businesses.” On 27 and 28 November, the third edition of FUTURE Days will focus on the theme “LEGACY AND FUTURE OF OUR CITIES”.

 FUTURE Days: Building the cities of the future together

FUTURE Days – Researchers, companies and collectives come to Cité Descartes in Marne-la-Vallée on November 21 and 22 for a debate on "Innovations and Tomorrow's Cities" . Organised as part of the I-SITE FUTURE project supported by Investissements d'Avenir, these days are run by Paris-Est University and the Agence Descartes Développement, in collaboration with partner organisations and with the participation of universities around the world (New York University, Buenos Aires University in Argentina, the Technological University of Nanyang in Singapore. FUTURE Days is aimed not only at those involved in the field of social economics and academics, but also at the greater public concerned about the cities of the future.
